About me:

Hey there! Welcome to my portfolio page. Here is some more information about me. I’m a current student at Cal State Long Beach pursuing a bachelor's degree in Public Relations. Since transferring to CSULB this fall, I have rediscovered my passion for unique storytelling and digital marketing. Here’s how I got here: 

 

Growing up in the Orange County- Los Angeles area, I have been well acquainted with social media from its earliest phases to now. At my high school I was heavily involved in the digital media arts academy, where I was able to work with industry grade equipment in hopes of pursuing a career in film or television. Following a lackluster ending to senior year in 2020, I set off for the University of Washington in Seattle where I would spend 3 years studying Cinema and Media Studies. As I began to take more of my core major classes, I realized that I have fallen out of love with film and was starting to rethink my post-grad plans. At this point I was burnt out from years of online classes, quarantine and knew I needed to make a change. 

 

One semester off, soon became a full gap year living in Seattle, working full time. I feel very lucky to have received unwavering support from friends and family during this time. I think the hardest part of it all was letting go and realizing that everyone is on their own timeline. Up to this point, my academic career has been shaped by my ability to persist despite the unconventional approach to higher education. Through it all my willingness to learn and grow has maintained.

 

Over the past couple of years, I’ve had many opportunities to work with D1 athletics, local Seattle businesses, ambassadorships in managing social media content creation and event planning. Hands-on industry experience is invaluable and my favorite part of CSULB so far. Post graduation this winter, I hope to score a job in the sports, beauty, lifestyle, or food industries.

Beyond working towards launching a successful career in PR I enjoy spending time outdoors, skiing, hiking, trying new coffee shops, cooking, pilates classes, reading at the beach, traveling, and writing movie reviews on Letterboxd.
